Last month, Elise and I from Playfair Capital, together with Tech Nation and Google for Startups, hosted the Female Founder Office Hours Edition V. In this blog, we look behind the scenes to see how the event went, what feedback we received and what happens next .

Our mission is to address the lack of funding and support for female tech founders and the barriers to accessing investors, especially outside of London.

On Thursday, May 6th, 2021, Playfair Capital and 90 of the world’s leading venture capital funds, including Atomico, Creandum, Dawn, Balderton, EQT, Notion, LocalGlobe, Partech and Sequoia, spent 270 hours together meeting and advising female founders.

By dispensing with a warm introduction and breaking down investment barriers, each founder had the opportunity to meet four investors during one hour of remote office hours to discuss their tech business idea, ask for advice, promote investments or get a mentor Find .

And the result?

🤝 990 office-hour meetings
👸 140 women founders
👫 90 VC investors from Europe’s leading funds

We got some great feedback from the founders themselves on how well they thought the event went:

With live feedback during the event, 91% of the meetings received a 👍 from investors and founders. This means that a) they will follow up, b) the meeting was relevant and / or c) it was a strong pitch.

As always, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Landscape, the Glassdoor for VCs and Founders, to provide founders with completely transparent and anonymous feedback that has been overwhelmingly positive!

👉 Call quality: 4.6 / 5
Professionalism: 4.7 / 5
Engagement: 4.7 / 5

And some amazing feedback for our participating investors …

This time we have grown from 60 to 90 investors, used an AI matchmaking tool to optimize founder-investor matches, welcomed Google for Startups to the #ffohfamily and are on the move across Europe. Phew

We will open the doors for Edition VI in November 2021.
