I am proud to announce my last $ 1 million in Karmagawa donations … This money helps thousands of people and animals in need. It even has a feature on Yahoo! Finances …
But I don’t want to tell you just the dollar amount of donation … I want to tell you exactly where the money is going.
For me, full transparency is a way of life. This applies not only to my trading, but also to my Karmagawa donations.
Donating to charity is very important to me. It has become one of my greatest passions in life. I’ve donated over $ 5 million to charity over the years … and I want to keep giving more.
I am pleased to share the details of my recent Karmagawa donations with you. But first a few important things …
What motivates me to act
I have made over $ 6.9 million in trading profits over the course of my trading career.* *
That’s an extraordinary amount of money … It changed my life.
(My main income comes from selling financial education products and subscription services offered by various companies and websites that I am involved with.)
It has also shifted my goals and what motivates me.
When I started trading, I wanted to make money in order to have a better life. I didn’t grow up rich … I grew up middle-class in Connecticut. You can read more about my story in my autobiography “An American Hedge Fund”.
(* Please note: My results are far from typical. Individual results vary. Most traders lose money. I have benefited from years of hard work, dedication and experience. Trading is inherently risky. Do your due diligence and never risk more than you can afford to lose.)
Now I have more than enough money to fund the kind of lifestyle I want … so why keep trading? Here are my two main sources of motivation …
1) Teaching my Trading Challenge students
I started my Trading Challenge to help other traders learn my penny stock trading strategy.
My goal is to help them learn the ropes so they can incorporate my lessons into their own unique trading strategy.
Every job I do is an opportunity to learn.
I am completely transparent about my trades. On Profit.ly I post every trade I make with my position sizes and comments on my entries and exits. I don’t want my students to follow my careers, but I want them to watch and learn from them.
2) Make Karmagawa donations
I donate 100% of my trading profits to charity.
Years ago I was motivated by things like fancy cars … Now a charity donation drives me. Learn more about it in this post and see where previous donations have gone in this post …
It is humbling for me to see the positive impact Karmagawa donations have on people’s lives and the environment. That’s a great motivation for me. I want to donate even more!
What you need to know about my Karmagawa donations
This is something most people don’t realize: Responsible giving takes a lot of effort.
As with stock picking, it is important to do your research before putting your money into a charity. When I give, I want to make sure that my money actually goes to people in need.
It’s not always easy. Sometimes there are fees or charges to get the funds to the right people or places.
With my Karmagawa donations, I personally pay these fees and expenses. So if you’ve donated to one of my fundraisers in the past, you can be sure that your contribution will go straight to the donation.
My last $ 1 million in Karmagawa donations
I am pleased to announce my final Karmagawa donation of $ 1 million. They are mainly focused on education and help animals and people in need.
This is where the money goes …
$ 400,000 in Karmagawa Donations: New Schools Built
I’m proud to say that Karmagawa recently donated $ 400,000 to two different organizations to help build schools:
If you follow me on social media, these names will probably sound familiar to you.
I’ve already built over two dozen schools with the Bali Children’s Project … They do a fantastic job and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I’ve also worked with Partners Relief & Development before. In 2020, $ 500,000 in Karmagawa donations went to Partners Relief to fund their work in Lebanon and Yemen.
After you’ve studied / worked hard enough to take care of yourself / your family, the most important thing in life is what you can do to help others in need. I am so proud of my charity @ Karmagawa is currently doing something to help families in need in Yemen with our donation of over USD 500,000 @PartnersRelief pic.twitter.com/3UAJcG0dy9
– Timothy Sykes (@timothysykes) 3rd December 2020
The latest donation of $ 200,000 is part of a new collaboration. It will be the first time that we will work with them to build schools. We will build schools in Syria, Iraq and Myanmar.
I firmly believe in the power of education. It’s amazing how much $ 200,000 can do in developing countries … the impact is much bigger than it is here in the US
$ 40,000 in Karmagawa Donations: Aid for Animals in Austin
When my student Matthew Monaco made a $ 1 million profit, I knew I wanted to do something special to celebrate. *
Here’s what you should know about Matthew: In addition to being a talented trader and my 30 day bootcamp co-creator, he’s an animal lover too. Look at his cute dog Ella …
To celebrate his $ 1 million * milestone, I donated to two animal welfare organizations in his new hometown of Austin, Texas:
(* Please note that Matthew and Kyle’s results and reported profits are not typical. Most traders lose money. Individual results vary. Trading is inherently risky. Before entering into a trade, remember to exercise your diligence and never risk more than you can afford to lose.)
$ 50,000 in Karmagawa Donations: Feeding the People of California
Another Student Inspired Karmagawa Donation! My student Kyle Williams passed the $ 1 million mark the same week as Matt. * It’s been an amazing week for so many of my students …
Here’s a fun fact about Kyle: He’s as devoted to his vegetarian diet as he is to his trade.
After crossing the $ 1 million mark, some Challenge dealers and I surprised Kyle by dressing up as fruits and vegetables and creating a vegetarian feast for him * …
I followed him with a Karmagawa donation of $ 50,000 to the San Diego Food Bank in his honor.
This is a great food bank that is helping so many people in need. And they care deeply about delivering healthy food which is in line with Kyle’s lifestyle!
$ 20,000 in Karmagawa Donations: Shark Guardian
From vegetarians on land to predators at sea …
Sharks have a bad rap thanks to Hollywood, but they’re vital to the health of the ocean.
Yes, they are natural predators. But they are also very useful for maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
Do you want to learn more? Karmagawa recently posted a video about sharks.
I’m proud to have recently made a Karmagawa donation of $ 20,000 to Shark Guardian, an organization that helped create this video …
$ 100,000 in Karmagawa Donations: Feeding the people of Lebanon
Foodblessed is a charity that feeds people in Lebanon. I am very pleased to have made a Karmagawa donation of $ 100,000 to you. There are so many people in need in Lebanon right now.
This Karmagawa donation was a labor of love … it took months to get started. It can be difficult to get money and help for those in need, so I am really proud of these.
Karmagawa Donation of $ 220,000: Texas Food Banks
As you know, Texas recently suffered some insane winter weather conditions that left a lot of people in need.
To remedy the situation, Karmagawa recently made a donation to several Texas food banks:
$ 100,000 in Karmagawa Donations: The Barstool Fund
I love that Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports are giving something back to the community. The Barstool Fund is a great initiative that brings relief to small business owners affected by recent world events.
I’ve seen for myself how many companies have been affected in the past year. I want to help as many of them survive as possible. It is an honor to give help and money to these companies that give so much to their communities.
Additional Karmagawa donations of $ 70,000
In addition to these larger donations, I have also been part of several smaller Karmagawa donations to a variety of projects and groups that are doing great work:
- $ 30,000 to fund the upcoming Balance For Earth Recycling documentary.
- $ 30,000 for Four Paws Animal Rescue.
- $ 10,000 for Kani Orphanage in India.
What motivates you
I am very proud to announce the latest $ 700,000 in donations to Karmagawa.
But my work is far from over.
Donating to charity fulfills me in a way that buying fancy cars never has … I love it. I like to see how these donations improve the lives of people and animals around the world.
Giving back is a great source of my inspiration and motivation to act. What motivates you
Whether you like cars, jets, charities, travel, caring for your family, or keeping your dollar in your account so you can trade bigger sizes, don’t let anyone tell you what your dreams should be or what to do with them should do your $ … YOU’RE IN CONTROL, BUILD YOUR OWN DREAMS!
